Faezah received her B.Eng(Hons) degree in Electronics Engineering from Multimedia University (MMU) and her MSc in Communication Network Engineering from University Putra Malaysia (UPM). She obtained her PhD from University of Warwick, UK in the field of Optical Wireless Communications. Before joining INOR, she has been teaching in Multimedia University, Melaka and First City University College, Selangor where she taught various modules including Physics, Electronic and Communication Engineering subjects.
In her PhD work, she focuses on underwater optical wireless communication channels (UOWC). Specifically, the work studies the modelling and characterisation of UOWC communication links, particularly short-range diffuse links, by using numerical Monte Carlo (MC) simulation. MC simulation provides a flexible, intuitive and accurate modelling of the underwater channel, which is severely affected by absorption and scattering processes. The work specifically investigates the effect of absorption and scattering on the UOWC channel. This is done by characterizing of path loss, spatial, temporal and angular dispersions of diffuse links in various types of water. Currently, she is working on modelling an improved UOWC channel model that includes the variation of chlorophyll concentration and also turbulence due to the fluctuations in salinity, temperature and pressure. Apart from that, her research interest also includes modulation schemes for visible light communications (VLC), LiFi and modelling and characterisation of optoelectronic devices.
